Amendment to the Safety Instruction IS36 - Memorandum DGS-DI/RT/ma 2015-001 2 February 2015
Following the publication of Directive 2013/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013, the exposure limits for occupational exposure defined in paragraphs 5 and 6 of IS36 rev. 2 shall be amended as defined below. All other provisions of IS36 Rev. 2 remain valid including the principle that exposure shall be kept “As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)”. Occupational exposure limits: Exposure limits under normal working conditions are B = 2 T and B = 8 T for localised limbs exposure, B being the magnetic flux density. Exposure below the above indicated limits does not require a specific medical authorisation or follow-up.

The CERN Nuclear Safeguards Policy
CERN, as an intergovernmental organization for fundamental research in particle physics, hereby establishes a Nuclear Safeguards Policy (“the Policy”).
In line with a longstanding practice of the Organization, this Policy is aimed to ensure non-proliferation and nuclear security, including the protection, control and accounting of nuclear materials situated on the CERN site. Such materials may be used in the framework of CERN’s activities for peaceful purposes only, in accordance with its founding Convention
