Providing and organising training courses for CERN personnel
Safety training at CERN
In line with the Learning & Development and Safety policies of the Organization, the aim of the Safety Training programme is to inform and train the entire CERN population on the potential health hazards, safety issues and risks they may encounter in the workplace.
The Safety Training Team organises, plans and coordinates classroom, online and tailor-made courses on health and Safety. It provides support on course selection and on enrolment procedures to all people working at CERN. It advises Departments and Experiments in matters of Safety training. Contents and designs of courses are made in collaboration with the concerned experts and/or the safety coordinators of the installations.
Safety training and safety awareness are considered as a corporate priority of the Organization and are thus free-of-charge.
All training courses are listed and described in the Learning Hub.
The classroom courses usually take place at the Safety Training Centre at Prévessin and they typically include both a theoretical and a practical part. The training sessions are held by CERN internal trainers or an external training providers. CERN contractors need to consult the catalogue to find out to which classroom courses they are accepted in.
