Safety training at CERN
The HSE Safety Training service informs and trains the entire CERN population on the potential health hazards, safety issues and risks they may encounter in the workplace, according to the Learning & Development and Safety policies of the Organization.
The Safety Training team provides the following services to the CERN population:
• Design, conception and creation of classroom and online training programmes and related training media in cooperation with the concerned safety experts and the topic owners of the installations.
• Planification, organisation and delivery of classroom and tailor-made classroom training sessions
• Support on course selection and on enrolment procedures to all people working at CERN
• Deployment and maintenance of the Safety Training Centre at Prévessin to carry out the classroom training sessions , which typically include both a theoretical and a practical part.
All training programmes are listed and described in CERN's Learning Hub.
The classroom sessions are held by CERN internal trainers or external training providers. CERN contractors need to consult the catalogue to find out to which classroom programmes they are accepted in.
Safety training and safety awareness are considered as a corporate priority of the Organization and are thus free-of-charge.
