REMS Programme

Radiation and Environmental Monitoring Systems

Launched in 2013 as the RAMSES Programme, REMS (Radiation and Environmental Monitoring Systems) is CERN’s long-term framework for ensuring the continuous evolution, operation, and modernisation of radiation and environmental monitoring across its facilities. By consolidating activities, services, and projects – from system maintenance to strategic upgrades – REMS coordinates efforts to align with CERN’s safety, environmental, and regulatory commitments.

Originally built on systems such as ARCON and RAMSES, the programme has evolved over the years under Daniel Perrin’s long-standing leadership. It now continues under Hamza Boukabache’s direction, pursuing the programme’s long-standing vision of future-proof monitoring.
