Environmental Noise Monitoring Station (ENoMoS)

The EnNoMoS project’s objective is to implement a network of Sound level meters (SLM) operated within the CERN environmental monitoring programme. The project is part of the RAMSES Programme that encompasses projects related to the development of the instrumentation and supervisory systems operated by the HSE Department.

The EnNoMoS project:

• Started mid-2025 and last until the end of December
• Has an estimated budget of 0.5 MCHF, allocated by the CERN Environmental Protection Steering Board (CEPS),
• Has a human resource forecast estimated 0.50 man per year.

The EnNoMoS project deliverables are:

• Selection of the SLM (Sound Level Meters)
• Purchase of 26 SLM (24 + 2 spare units).
• Functional specification for integration in REMUS.
• The commissioning of the SLM at the 24 selected locations.
