F-Gas: Procurement

F-Gas Purchase

F-Gases at CERN shall only be procured through the approved channels. CERN personnel purchasing F-gases shall:

1. Have followed the F-Gases Fundamentals e-learning course
2. Use one of the following approved CERN channels:
   1. CERN stores, using an EDH Material request
      Or if not available in the CERN stores:
   2. Requesting purchase through an EDH Purchase requisition (DAI)

One of the following procurement codes shall be selected:

Transport and Delivery

Delivery and transport to gas delivery point

Delivery of F-Gas bottles and containers must be through the dedicated CERN reception areas:

• Meyrin, CH (Bldg. 73)
• Prévessin, FR (Bldg. 904)

F-Gas bottles and containers shall only be delivered to the gas delivery points specified in the purchase order. The corresponding Building TSO shall ensure that designated gas delivery points meet all safety and regulatory standards for the reception and storage of gas bottles and containers.

Only accredited personnel are authorised to transport F-Gas bottles/containers from reception to the designated gas delivery point.

Once the F-Gas bottle/container has reached the gas delivery point, the relevant technical contact, as stated in the EDH request, will automatically be informed through the EDH routing. They shall check that every F-Gas container carries the appropriate labels.

CERN Internal transport from gas delivery point to subsequent storage within CERN premises

If less than 200m from the gas delivery point: transport to any subsequent storage location shall be carried out by personnel who have followed the F-Gas fundamentals e-learning course.

If more than 200m from the gas delivery point: a CERN internal transport through EDH using the “Storage and/or Internal Transport” shall be requested.
