RAMSES Electronics Consolidation
Thanks to the in-house CROME project completed for the replacement of the old ARCON3 system during the LS2, HSE has a valid solution available that permits the consolidation of RAMSES measuring electronics.
The proposed solution, using CROME, also makes it possible to keep away from monitoring stations issues as CROME integrates all the functionalities of the latter, both
in terms of control and data acquisition, data storage and transmission (EDMS 2471015).
Another valuable aspect is the fact that CROME is already fully integrated in REMUS (EDMS 2371433), thanks to the successful project of replacement of the old ARCON
system.
CROME is a state-of-the-art electronics that has been developed to the latest standards in terms of measuring performances, reliability, availability, maintainability and
functional safety (EDMS 2593494).
The consolidation of RAMSES with CROME would also be beneficial in harmonising the measuring electronics of all REMS monitors at CERN and rationalising its maintenance and operation.
Unlike the RAMSES electronics, the CROME modular electronics has been entirely designed and developed in-house, which allows a complete control of its operation, its
performances, its updates and its future developments and production.
