About QARE
What started as a research project investigating the ageing of cables, became an established Service in early 2025, incorporating quality control inspections of incoming cables at CERN. With a combined expertise of electrical engineering, materials characterisation and data science, our team is uniquely equipped to provide cross-field guidance and research to enable informed decisions.
Services & Research
QARE carries out cable quality assurance to all cables delivered at CERN. We also provide support for bespoke cable assessments, and qualifications of cables for cable procurement. Additionally, we run ageing research of cables, with the aim of predicting cable lifetimes in both ionized and non-ionized environments.
