Consultant Medical Practitioner
Administratively attached to the CERN Medical Service, the consultant medical practitioner carries out their duties in complete independence and in their premises, outside the CERN site. The Consultant Medical Practitioner may be required to collaborate with various partners, such as the human resources department, the occupational health doctor, etc. as well as with the MPE’s general practitioner when on sick leave.
In accordance with CERN rules*, the Consultant Medical Practitioner contributes to:
- The medical assessment of MPEs on sick leave.
- The process of determining disabilities.
- The process of recognising occupational diseases.
- Monitoring the consolidation of occupational accidents and their compensation.
